Elevating Wedding Connections One Vendor at a Time

DISCOVERY PHASE

In the heart of the bustling wedding industry, Vendly aspires to be the transformative force that simplifies and elevates the wedding planning experience for couples and vendors alike.

My primary aim was to craft a platform that effortlessly connects couples with vendors who perfectly align with their vision, creating a wedding planning journey that is not just hassle-free but deeply personalized.

MY ROLE

My tasks included comprehensive user research to understand client and vendor needs, followed by the design and development of the platform. This was an iterative process, with continuous user testing and feedback collection to refine and enhance the platform's usability and effectiveness. My work aimed to create a user-centered solution that revolutionizes the wedding planning experience for clients and vendors alike.


WHO IS OUR TARGET AUDIENCE?

The target audience for Vendly encompasses wedding vendors, and couples who are planning weddings.

Vendors hold slightly more importance, as they are likely to continue using the app beyond a single event, whereas clients' engagement tends to conclude after their wedding.

User Persona

To allow the client and stakeholders to really immerse themselves in the mindset of potential users, I crafted a user persona. By visualizing the persona's aspirations and challenges, it becomes easier for the team to align their efforts, ensuring the development of a solution that would resonate with the user's needs on a profound level.

User Journey

I created a user journey sketch to provide a visual representation of the various steps and touchpoints that a user goes through while interacting with the platform. It includes key actions, emotions, and pain points a user might experience along the way. This user journey allow us to visualize and discuss the user's path, helping to identify areas for improvement and optimization in the user experience.

Empathy Map

I created an empathy map for this project, aiming to explore the thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and pain points experienced by wedding couples, and to identify opportunities for Vendly to address and alleviate these pain points effectively. The empathy map illuminates their desire for a wedding planning experience that is stress-free and enjoyable, with a strong emphasis on finding the perfect vendor matches that resonate with their individual style and preferences. This empathy map serves as a valuable compass, guiding me in crafting solutions that cater to the couples' distinct needs and aspirations, ultimately leading to harmonious connections and unforgettable experiences.


THE PROBLEM

The problem to address is the oversaturation of the wedding vendor market. In this crowded landscape, both vendors and couples face difficulties. Vendors struggle to differentiate themselves and communicate their unique style and services to potential clients. Couples are overwhelmed by the sheer number of vendors and often aren't sure what their style is. This makes it challenging to find the right match for their unique needs, while vendors remain uncertain about the types of clients they would best serve. This platform's objective is to mitigate these issues by facilitating meaningful connections between vendors and clients based on compatibility, offering a solution to the challenges posed by market saturation and style ambiguity.

Key Considerations

  • Ensuring that the platform's interface and features are designed with a primary focus on vendor usability and convenience, as vendors are expected to be long-term users of the platform.

  • Striving to include a wide and diverse range of wedding vendors to cater to different styles, specialties, and services, thus offering clients a rich selection.

  • Designing an efficient and user-friendly process for vendors to set up their profiles, showcase their unique style and services, and get started on the platform seamlessly.


THE PROCESS

Project Goals

  • Develop a platform facilitating seamless connections between wedding vendors and clients, simplifying the process of finding the perfect match amidst the wedding landscape's complexity.

  • Empower vendors to pursue their passion by connecting them with clients who appreciate their unique style and services.

  • Assist couples in identifying their wedding style and preferences, helping them make informed decisions during the planning process.

Storyboard

I created a storyboard to visually represent the vendor’s user journey on Vendly. This storyboard serves as a dynamic tool for communicating and refining the user experience design. It outlines the key steps and interactions a vendor goes through on the platform, from first hearing about the platform to their engagement with clients and receiving reviews from the client post-event.

Wireframes

Using Figma, I crafted wireframes for Vendly, serving as foundational blueprints for the platform's user interface and experience. These wireframes enabled the visualization of interface structures, planning of user flows, and definition of content hierarchies, ensuring an intuitive and logical user journey. They facilitated iterative design, allowing for efficient revisions and collaborative input, while also serving as the basis for creating prototypes for user testing. Overall, these wireframes played a vital role in preparing Vendly for a well-structured, user-centric, and effective design process.

MVP Go Time!

With the wireframes finalized, it was time to kickstart the development of Vendly's Minimum Viable Product (MVP). This marked a critical phase in the project, where the carefully crafted designs were transformed into a functional platform. The MVP aimed to deliver essential features that would allow vendors and couples to sign up, create profiles, and initiate the matchmaking process. It also included the pivotal quizzes and image libraries for users to define their planning style and aesthetic preferences. By focusing on these core functionalities, I ensured a swift and efficient development process, setting the foundation for future feature enhancements. This MVP launch represented a significant milestone in bringing Vendly to life and providing a valuable solution to wedding vendors and couples alike.
